Music Exam Success!

It’s just been announced that three Marymount musicians have passed the ABRSM (A.K.A The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) with flying colours! Coco Soards, Carolina Abdo and Kathleen Fairweather all took the ABRSM exam in early December, and achieved the following results:

Coco Soards – Merit in Grade 8 Piano

Here’s what Coco had to say about her experience:

‘For my exam, I practised every single day, but there were many challenges. My nerves were hard to overcome and the toughest bit was trying to calm them. However, I completed the grade and got good results which I am very happy with! In the future, I aim to continue playing and explore different music.’

Carolina Abdo – Distinction in Grade 5 Singing

Here’s what Carolina had to say about her experience:

‘I really enjoyed taking my singing exam this year. Even though there were challenges throughout the preparations, I am really proud of myself and my teacher, Ms Barry, for accomplishing this achievement.’

Kathleen Fairweather – Distinction in Grade 5 Singing

Here’s what Kathleen had to say about her experience:

‘Having missed the prior ABRSM exam at the beginning of the year due to illness, it was such a relief to complete it. The preparation and the subsequent exam was a hugely creatively fulfilling and satisfying experience for me.’
